Mission and Vision
Although a non-traditional church in terms of style, Crossroads is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith. Our mission is simple: “To actively bring people to Jesus Christ, helping people: to become participating members of the church, to grow in spiritual maturity, to be equipped for active service and to bring praise and glory to God.”
In a nut shell it is “Seek & Save, Strengthen and Serve.”
Core values:
At Crossroads we have 10 core values that shape who we are and what we do and they are highlighted below.
- God’s Word is the source of absolute moral truth. It is the guide that defines the standards and principles by which we operate and exist
- Lost people matter to God and therefore matter to us.
- The Church is Christ’s heart, hands and mouth in our community and in the world.
- Prayer is the communication we have with God and it makes a critical difference in life and in all that we do and attempt.
- Full devotion to Jesus Christ and obedience to His teaching is normal for us all and we will do all we can with the help of the Holy Spirit to love, serve, and please Him and bring honour to His name.
- Unity within a diverse community of people is the aim within our church, where love, acceptance, forgiveness and encouragement are characterised.
- Each of us have freedom and liberty in Christ to live within the bounds of Biblical truth, striving to live a holy life.
- We will behave toward one another, as God’s Word instructs and encourages, and as we would want to be treated ourselves.
- All members will be assisted to identify their spiritual gift(s) and will allow free expression for all to use them in the relevant ministry, without limiting the power and intervention of the Holy Spirit.
- Every member has a responsibility to be a witness of the good news of Jesus Christ, of His salvation and of how He has worked in each individual’s life.
