Our Philosophy

Relationships are the foundation on which Crossroads Early Childhood Centre is embedded.

We provide a welcoming haven, where all families/whānau, children and teachers feel respected, safe, supported, and valued. A place for you, where individuals and relationships can grow and flourish.

Crossroads Early Childhood Centre has a nurturing Christian character where children, families/whānau and teachers are free  to share about their relationship with Jesus.

We believe that all children are unique and precious to God. We are dedicated to learning about each child, acknowledging their abilities, strengths, interest’s, cultural identity, and affirming who they are and where they come from. We support children to develop the fruits of the spirit in learning and in life.

We deliver high quality education in partnership with parents and whānau, creating stimulating, thoughtful, meaningful learning environments where children and whānau can actively engage.                      We acknowledge Māori as tangata whenua (the indigenous people) and commit to building relationships that are in the spirit of partnership, participation and protection.

Centre Leader

I am a born and bred, proud Palmerstonian.  My tribal affiliations are Rangitāne and Ngāti Kahungunu.  I have three adult children and a very patient husband who is always willing to fix the toys!

I have 30 years’ experience working in Early Childhood and am passionate about supporting children, whānau and teachers to succeed and thrive.

When not at the Centre, I can be found singing and dancing around the house or snuggled up with a good book.

I’m a born and bred Palmerston North girl!  I studied a Bachelor of Education (Early Years) at Massey University.  I’ve been part of the Crossroads Early Childhood Centre team since 2017.  I love our community at Crossroads as it’s such a supportive and welcoming place, with a great bunch of children and whānau.

When I’m not at work, I’m wife to Tim and a Mumma to our gorgeous son, Malachi.  In my spare time (what spare time!), I’m often found sitting in a sunny spot reading a book or outside gardening, or chasing Malachi!
