Mission

LOCAL MISSION

Sharing the good news of Christ with those amongst whom we associate in our daily lives is important to us.  We believe we are all called to Be Christ’s witnesses.

Our Sunday services all are run sensitively to the guests in our midst.  To help us with our witness we hold occasional special services on a Sunday, other individual events, and offer equipping courses.

Activities such as Family Feeds providing materials and menus on healthy low cost meals, our Crossroads Pre-School and Pre-Loved clothing store are also part of our local mission.

OVERSEAS MISSION

Overseas we support Dr David Friend working in Mukinge Hospital, Zambia, the New Hope ministry providing a range of social services in the Philippines, a Samoan Assembly, as well as workers in India and Restricted countries.  We have in the past, had Philippa Williamson serve with Door of Hope ministries caring for abandoned babies in South Africa.

In 2017 we are offering short term overseas mission opportunities.

About the Crossroads Mission Committee

The Missions committee works to maintain, support and foster the Missions activities that are supported by Crossroads Bible Church. The committee seeks to be led by the Holy Spirit and to apply biblical truths in its decisions and actions for the Glory of God.

The committees’ desire is to help share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. We do this by supporting activities and individuals to spread the good news for those in the Crossroads Bible Church community, to our city and to the nations. The committee is enabled to undertake this service by the authority of the Eldership and Pastors, and is subject to their leadership.

Engage Mission!

The Missions Committee would be pleased to hear from any church members who are engaged in evangelistic and mission activities. We are pleased to identify, develop, encourage, promote and support any short or long term mission activities generate at the Church. As a coordination group the committee has oversight over existing and new Missionary relationships for the purpose of, commendation, support and pastoral care.

We wish to promote the pastoral care and support for returning Missionaries (short or long term). The committee can promote Missions related news and events and is involved in dissemination of reports or correspondence to improve the Mission message to the wider church.

If you have any ideas for supporting our mission work, fundraising, tangible support, advertising or connecting with our Missionaries please contact us.

If you are feeling God’s call on your life to move into mission related work please contact the committee Chair or the church office;
