Hi there! I’m Leanne Brown our Crossroads Children and Families Pastor.

Stephen and I have four fabulous children. We enjoy travelling as a family and baking. I enjoy photography and music. I lead our Crossroads mainly music where we have loads of fun with families. I love seeing others grow closer to God.

Have a look here for encouragement, resources and ideas for do with your children. Be kind to yourself and to each other. The Message Bible says this “Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate, for such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life. It's not uncommon to see kids racing around Crossroads Church on Sunday morning and throughout the week. We are thankful for the joy and life they bring to our church!

We're passionate about serving our community's families - at every age. On Sunday morning we offer a Creche for 0 - 2 year olds, COS Kids Junior (Age 3 - 6), COS Kids Senior (Age 7-12).

Throughout the week our dedicated team of volunteer leaders will meet your kids at their level at Girls Rally and Rock Solid. Read more about each of these programmes and meet our Children and Families Pastor below.

10am Service

stars (CRECHE)

STARS is a ministry designed for newborn to 2-year-old aged children during our Sunday 10am service.

You are welcome to stay with your child or leave them with the leaders and team, who are rostered on. Children are provided with a biscuit and activities.

JUNIOR COS KIDS

Junior COS (Crossroads on Sunday) Kids is a child-centred, hands on, fun programme designed to teach 3-6 year-old children about the wonderful love of God. Bible stories are taught in exciting ways by our team of dedicated leaders.

Our programme starts with a craft or activity and also includes a time of singing, dancing, silly fun and Bible stories. The programme finishes with small group where leaders and children are given special time to discuss the session, Bible stories and pray.

cos kIDS Senior

Crossroads on Sunday(COS) Kids Senior is an action packed programme for children aged 7 to Y7 & Y8 students with activities, drama, singing and small group time lead by enthusiastic leaders!

Girls Rally

Tuesdays Fortnightly

Girls Rally is a high energy, stimulating programme for girls between 7-12 years-old where they learn life skills and how God fits into the picture of their lives.

Rally happens every second Tuesday night 6.15pm-8:00pm at Crossroads throughout the school term.

Girl's Rally is part of an international organisation that began in New Zealand.

YEAR 8’s

The idea of moving into CY after year 8 can be a bit of a scary thought! We don't reckon it has to be, so we are hoping to make the transition a little easier with the formation of year 8 Life Groups! Year 8 Life Groups are an awesome chance to learn and grow together led by our awesome student leaders, whilst also enjoying the fun and games of CY. Year 8 Life Groups meet on Friday nights at same time and place as the as the rest of the CY students which is usually fortnightly and usually from 7:30pm-9:30pm.

  • Sign up to RightNow Media for more resources, its free and we even have our own Crossroads recommended page for content that we know you’ll enjoy.

  • Check out Parenting Place, a great NZ tool for parents. Parenting Place offer a range of resources and strategies online including Family Coaches, available to chat on the phone or online meeting room for help and ideas. Check them out!

  • Write up a few favourite encouraging Bible verses for your family to pop up around your house.

  • Look out for teddy bears in windows when out on a family walk.

  • Share a Bible verse at your meal time - make it a candlelight dinner (creates a calming atmosphere).

  • Google various zoos from around the world with their live cams to see what the animals are up to.
