High school

Crossroads Youth (CY) is Crossroads High School Aged ministry. There are many elements to the youth ministry including a weekly Friday Night programme, L!fe Groups, Harvest and Events that run throughout the school term. You will see more information about each of these ministries below.

CY Friday Night

Friday Night Fortnightly

Heaps of kids, heaps of noise, and heaps of fun! Usually the programme involves a worship set, some sort of crazy game, and preaching message by a speaker. After the programme, the youth can play sports in the gym, have a free hot chocolate in the cafe or just catch up with friends.

Our primary responsibility (and privilege!) is to relate and have fun - not run a flashy programme - so we hope you feel comfortable and welcome!

CY L!fe Groups

FRIDAY NIGHT FORTNIGHTLY

L!fe Groups are small groups that get together to hang out, learn about God, have fun, eat food and encourage each other.

These small groups are led by university students and young adults who are keen to get alongside and encourage high school students.

Meet our leaders and learn more about individual life groups here: L!fe Groups

If you are keen to join, please contact Donna.

MEET OUR LEADERS

Donna GRANT
Youth Pastor

Donna has been on the CY youth staff for seven years, with a short break where she went to Melbourne to complete an internship. Donna has completed a Cert IV in Christian Ministry (Aus) and a Diploma in Applied Theology (NZ). She is married to Brayden, who is an Aircraft Technician in the Air Force. They are currently managers at Rahiri Student Accommodation for first year university students.

In her spare time Donna loves reading a good book and having people over for dinner.

CY Crew

We are privileged to have an incredible team of high school students and young adults that serve at CY as part of our Crew Leadership Team.

Crew leaders can be identified on a Friday night by the Crew t-shirt. If you happen to see a Crew leader with a gold print this means that they have been on the team for 4 or more years - which we think is worth celebrating, don't you?

Harvest

The aim of Harvest is to deepen spiritual growth, while at the same time learn practical skills which encourage leadership and personal development.

We believe these core elements of Harvest are so important that we want all senior L!fe Group members to be involved. So, once a term on a Friday night there will be teaching on leadership, followed by a break-off time to rejoin your L!fe Group for interactive discussion.

Parents

We know you have a tough job and are working your hardest to be the best parent possible for your kids. It is our desire to help you as parents of teenagers to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and information relevant to teens. We are not experts but we do frequently come across articles and information that may be useful.

We also provide coffee and cake the second Friday night of each term.
